Laura Spence: Founder and ADHD Midwife

I’m Laura Spence, the founder of NeuroNatal® Academy C.I.C. and a proud ADHD midwife. My journey to this point has been anything but straightforward.

For years, I navigated the world of midwifery and motherhood without realising I had ADHD. I constantly felt overwhelmed, lost, and like I didn’t quite fit in — both in my personal life and in my profession.

Then came my diagnosis, and suddenly, everything made sense. I wasn’t broken; I was neurodivergent.

I started learning about the unique ways neurodivergent individuals experience pregnancy, birth, and parenting — and I realised how unsupported we are in the maternal healthcare system.

I founded NeuroNatal® because I was once just like you: lost, exhausted, and searching for a place to belong. And now? I’ve found my tribe, and I want to help you find yours, too.

Why NeuroNatal®?

NeuroNatal® is a community that understands the unique experiences of neurodivergent individuals during pregnancy, birth, and beyond.

Our programs are designed with compassion, lived experience, and evidence-based research to bridge the gap between healthcare systems and neurodivergent needs.

Advocacy

We work toward systemic change. Through our collaborations, we advocate for policies and practices that improve outcomes for neurodivergent families.

Inclusivity

We create safe, welcoming spaces where ND people feel seen and heard. Our support groups offer genuine connection, shared understanding, and a place to be authentic — no masking required.

Our Mission

Our Vision

Our mission is to transform maternal healthcare by educating professionals, advocating for change, and building inclusive communities. We empower neurodivergent individuals to embrace their identities and access the compassionate care they deserve.

To create a world where neurodivergent women, parents, and families receive the understanding, support, and care they need throughout pregnancy, birth, and parenthood — without stigma or barriers.

Our Core Values

Inclusivity: We believe maternal care should be accessible to all, focusing on supporting marginalised communities, including Black and Brown women and LGBTQIA+ parents.

Empathy: We lead with understanding, recognising the unique needs and strengths of every neurodivergent individual.

Collaboration: We work with healthcare professionals, researchers, and community organisations to create sustainable change.

Advocacy: We raise awareness and fight for systemic change to ensure better healthcare experiences for neurodivergent parents.

Education: We provide evidence-based training that helps healthcare professionals deliver more inclusive care.
